Job Description

This position is a member of Texas A&M Engineering’s marketing and communications team and is primarily responsible for serving as a communications coordinator for the SecureAmerica Institute. Responsibilities include content development for web, print collaterals, news stories, newsletters and social media messaging; coordinating the production of communications materials; and promoting and fostering membership to support the goals of the Texas A&M Engineering program as it relates to the SecureAmerica Institute.

Responsibilities:

  • Works with leadership to develop and implement a marketing and communications plan for the SecureAmerica Institute
  • Develops content for new stories, press releases, social media messaging, web, print materials, and presentations
  • Writes and produces monthly SecureAmerica Institute newsletter
  • Coordinates the production of print material with graphic design team and may perform some graphic design by utilizing branded design templates
  • Maintains positive and productive working relationships with diverse teams, handles time sensitive material, and must have the ability to work with high-profile individuals and media contacts
  • Coordinates messaging with various marketing and communications teams: Texas A&M System, College of Engineering, Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station, Bush Combat Development Complex, government agencies, SecureAmerica Institute members, partner universities and other relevant teams
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience:

  • Two years of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to present information clearly and concisely.
  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work cooperatively with others in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
