Job Description

This position is a member of the College of Engineering's marketing and communications team, and additionally supports the Texas A&M at Qatar (TAMUQ) with outreach and communications in College Station. The position, under general supervision, is responsible for developing content for web, print, news and feature writing; coordinating the production of print materials; helping to promote College of Engineering and TAMUQ events, and coordinates electronic communications to support the goals of the College of Engineering and TAMUQ.

  

Responsibilities:

  • Generates content for news and feature stories, web, marketing collateral and emails for engineering programs and the TAMUQ campus.
  • Carries out communications projects and tasks for TAMUQ.
  • Promotes special events and programs. Generates ideas for communications strategies.
  • Coordinates the production of print material and electronic communications to support the goals of TAMUQ and engineering programs.
  • Reports to Sr. Communications Specialist.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience:

  • None

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in feature or editorial writing, content creation, or marketing & communications.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Has initiative, a commitment to lifelong learning, and a willingness to ask questions.
  • Has the ability to bring fresh ideas and enthusiasm to the team.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
