Job Description

The Communications Specialist I, under general supervision, writes content for annual reports, brochures, flyers, news and research stories, newsletters and the College of Engineering website. The team member also facilitates the design process with the design team for the creation of flyers, brochures, annual reports, and other marketing and communications material. In addition, manages the department’s social media presence.

Responsibilities

  • Produces news feature stories highlighting the faculty, students and research in the College of Engineering.
  • Updates content on the website and marketing/communications collateral.
  • Monitors key social media activities and writes/creates social media posts.
  • Responsible for serving as a communications liaison to carry out the marketing plan for departments within the engineering program.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience:

  • No prior experience

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in copywriting, editorial writing, website content management or social media content creation.
