Position Summary
Develops marketing materials and communications for assigned department/school. Develops materials to support department/school internal and external communications plans.


Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Creates and implement communications engaging internal and external audiences.
  • Creates and manages content for department/school social media channels.
  • Works closely with department staff and others to create content reflecting the university’s brand identity and mission.
  • Oversees coordination of materials developed for campaigns, including advising on strategy, researching options, writing/editing copy, etc.
  • Researches market needs and develops innovative ideas; analyzes existing digital assets; creates innovative solutions to all aspects of projects.
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders to develop communications plans for web, social media and digital signage.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Five years of experience with increasing levels of responsibility and expert understanding of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
  • Thorough knowledge of appropriate software including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of communication design and thorough knowledge of digital and print graphic design production and printing processes, typography and a good eye for aesthetics.
  • Self‐starter, strong attention to detail; well‐organized with ability to manage multiple projects and time effectively.
  • Ability to adapt and maintain flexibility within a rapidly changing environment while showing initiative, resourcefulness and sound judgement.
  • High level experience in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
  • Originality and a strong visual sense for design.
  • Confidence, to present and explain ideas to clients and colleagues.
  • Energy, creativity and organizational skills.


Required Qualifications

Bachelor degree and two years' related experience.

Salary Range
$22.92 - $35.49 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
