Description of Work

The University Communications Intern will report to the Director of Content Development and work with colleagues in the Office of University Communications, particularly in content, social media, and internal communications. The intern will produce work in some of the following areas, depending on his or her skill sets: writing, videography, social media, photography and podcasting. The selected intern does not need to have experience or skills in all of these areas. Based on the selected intern’s skill sets, the intern’s duties may include writing stories for, the University Gazette and other publications, producing and curating content for the University’s official social media accounts, assisting with communications plans and strategies, creating videos, taking photos and helping with production of the University’s podcast, Well Said. Other duties may include contributing to brainstorming and story development sessions for various departments within University Communications and working with Carolina Social Influencers, the department’s social media ambassador group.

Education and Experience

Current UNC students only. Successful candidates should have experience working with social media platforms, video production, or exposure to content writing.
