Position Title Communications Graduate Assistant

Position Summary
The Communications Graduate Assistant works under the supervision of the Communications Manager and assists with Graphic design, digital advertising, website management, and events.
This is a student position open to current UIW graduate students. This graduate assistant position is funded via tuition assistance. (See work hours for detail) .
Essential Functions
Graphic Design:
-Assist with design requests for the Office of Admissions including but not limited to posters, flyers, social media graphics, and other relevant recruiting marketing materials;
-Ensure all designs are consistent with the UIW brand guidelines;
-Utilize Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, and Canva to create recruiting materials;
Social Media Management:
-Assist in the administration and maintenance of UIW Admissions social media profiles including, but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter;
Digital Advertising:
-Assist with managing and monitoring digital ad campaigns and reporting;
Copywriting:
-Assist with writing and copy-editing content for the Admissions website, emails, and marketing materials;
-Ensure all information is accurate and complete and meets the UIW style guide;
Website Management:
-Research UIW’s Admission web pages and academic program pages thoroughly to develop and/or refine the content on the website;
-Contribute to website review, updates, and reporting on website analytics;
Events:
-Assist in Admissions campus events and campus tours as needed and deliver excellent customer service;
-Perform other duties as assigned

-Excellent writing, public speaking, time management and organizational skills;
-Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures;
-Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA
Required Education
Current UIW graduate or doctoral student
Required Work Experience
Experience with social media strategy implementation, graphic design and copy-writing
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from any subject area, Communication, Marketing or related fields
Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
Work Hours
For graduate management assistantships, they will receive 6 credit hours of tuition in exchange for a total of 300 hours within a semester.
