Communications Center Associate (Part-Time)

Preferred Availability:

  • Monday 11am – 5pm
  • Wednesday 11am – 5pm
  • Friday 11am – 5pm

Primary Function:  The Communication Center Associate is responsible for fulfilling departmental printing, copying, and assorted other requests.  The position will also be responsible for sorting and distributing intercampus and regular mail, metering outgoing mail, and preparing packages for shipping. 

Essential Functions:

  • Sorts and distributes inter-campus and regular mail to appropriate departments
  • Use SendSuite software to track packages from receipt to delivery.
  • Use SendPro software to send out packages via USPS, Fedex, or UPS.
  • Meters outgoing campus mail
  • Prepares packages and mail for UPS shipping using UPS WorldShip software
  • Prints, copies, binds, and/or collates material per department request.
  • Tracks material usage (Paper, card, and envelopes) for all print and copying requests by department for the Business Office
  • Signs out University vehicles to approved drivers.
  • Monitors inventory of communication center supplies.
  • Troubleshoots and performs simple maintenance on all communication center machines (mail meter, copy machine, etc.)
  • Runs monthly reports on postage expenses, copy expenses and supplies for the Business Office.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in shipping and receiving or general office experience preferred
  • High Level of organizational skill with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of office machines (copier, mail meter) highly desirable
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation

Working Conditions

  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds on a regular basis
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
