The College of Veterinary Medicine Communications and Marketing Specialist plays a crucial role in promoting the College of Veterinary Medicine by crafting engaging content and managing strategic communication channels. Working collaboratively within the college and university, the specialist will contribute significantly to amplifying the college's voice and strengthening its connection with diverse audiences, including current and prospective students, alumni, donors, Veterinary Medical Center clients and others.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and manage effective content strategies for email and social media campaigns that align with the college's strategic priorities.

  • Craft compelling content for email, social media, and digital platforms to engage target audiences and foster community building.

  • Track and monitor multiple marketing projects at a time, ensuring timely, efficient, and successful completion.

  • Collaborate with the Communications and Marketing team, Advancement team, and other college leadership to achieve collective goals.

  • Maintain consistency and accuracy with university and college voice and branding, including style, spelling and grammar, across all communication efforts.

  • Contribute to a variety of other marketing materials through writing and review of digital and print materials.

  • Assist in maintaining website content.

  • Fulfill other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and manage email and social media campaigns aligned with the college's strategic priorities using university tools and templates.

  • Create compelling and timely/relevant content for email, social media, and digital platforms to engage diverse audiences.

  • Research, write, and edit articles and communications on college-related topics for various publications, maintaining consistency with university and college voice and branding, executing projects and tactics to produce high quality deliverables across all platforms. 

  • Work collaboratively across the communications and marketing team, advancement team, college and university, to achieve the organization's collective goals.

  • Track and monitor multiple marketing projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and successful completion.

  • Be flexible and prepared to fulfill other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the college's marketing and communication efforts.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field. 2+ years of experience in creating and managing engaging content across various digital platforms. Excellent writing and editing skills with a strong understanding of brand voice and messaging. Experience with social media marketing and email campaign using Sprout Social, Sales Force Marketing Cloud and other tools. Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse individuals.


Additional Information:

Target Salary: $49,800 - $66,400 annually.

Employer will not sponsor a work visa for applicants of this position.
