Position Summary
The Communication Specialist for the Center for Bioethics will play a key role in promoting the available resources, collaborative opportunities, and scholarship of the Center’s core faculty and affiliates within the university community and externally to both the wider academic community and the public. Utilizing social media platforms, internal and external communication vehicles, and traditional media, the incumbent will target the following audiences: 
UNC School of Medicine faculty, research staff, and students
UNC health science and humanities faculty, research staff, and students 
UNC Hospitals trainees and staff
National and international health science and humanities researchers, scholars, and students with interests in bioethics
Regional and national professional groups with interests in bioethics 
Community groups and patient populations
Prospective donors to the Center
Prospective UNC faculty and staff members
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Outstanding oral and written communications skills.
Ability to implement various digital communications and social media practices, strategies, analysis, and brand standards.
Ability to understand and abide by relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
Ability to use content management software and digital editing software.
Ability to write concise, active and engaging digital-based copy as well as editing copy for a digital platform.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Familiarity with web analytics, both capture and analysis
Experience in generating online brand familiarity and engagement.
Experience professionally managing multiple concurrent projects.
Experience using email marketing systems and lists 
Experience in shooting, producing and editing photos and video.
