Job Summary / Basic Function
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) invites applications for a temporary faculty pool. The CSD Department offers courses in audiology and speech-language pathology. Based on the specific needs of the department at the time of appointment, a successful applicant must be qualified to teach undergraduate and or graduate level courses in audiology and/or speech-language pathology. The campus for these temporary positions may be at the California, Clarion, or Edinboro campus with the expectation of serving a multi-campus University in face-to-face or multimodal formats.
Applicants would be expected to teach didactic undergraduate and/or graduate level courses offered by the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. They would be responsible for teaching the content material, grading, holding office hours as specified by the CBA, and submitting final grades for the semester. Applicants may also be expected to provide clinical supervision to graduate students. They would be responsible for providing consistent and appropriate clinical supervision, providing written and verbal feedback to student clinicians, completing practicum evaluations, and participating in clinical supervisor meetings as required. In addition, the successful applicant must be capable of and committed to effective teaching and/or supervision and fulfillment of professional responsibilities, continuing scholarly growth, and service contribution to the University and community. Additional responsibilities include involvement with departmental and/or college-wide committees when appropriate.
Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Minimum of Education / TrainingRequired Education Summary
Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, PA License in Speech-Language Pathology; ASHA CCC in Speech-Language Pathology
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous teaching experience
  • A minimum of three years of clinical experience
  • Ability to work with diverse populations
