The College includes five instructional and research divisions: Humanities, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Social Sciences and Undergraduate Education. It encompasses 34 departments, 40 specialized programs and organized research units, with 27,000 students, more than 3000 staff members and over 100 undergraduate majors and degree granting programs that span research and teaching in the liberal arts and sciences.
Position Summary

UCLA, Campus Human Resources is seeking a Sr. HR Business Partner to join its team. As Sr. HR Business Partner, you will be pivotal in aligning Semel's human resource practices with UCLA's mission and initiatives through strategic HR efforts. Qualifications
  • Human Resources Extensive Human Resources generalist experience in administering personnel policies and procedures, payroll, recruitment and selection, benefits policies, employee relations, including disciplinary an (Required)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, initiative and ability to assume responsibility for special projects. Ability to establish priorities over multiple assignments; work accurately and effectively with a high volume of detailed work with frequent deadlines andconstant interruptions. (Required)
  • Skill in writing concise, logical, and grammatically correct correspondence. (Required)
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data and report on results in a succinct manner, and use the results to develop recommendations for future actions. (Required)
  • Demonstrated computer skills, including knowledge of Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. (Required)
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in use of various UCLA online systems such as UCPath, PTR, QDB, RDS, SLS and Payroll Transfers. (Preferred)
  • Demonstrated skill in communicating, both orally and in writing, in order to convey information at various organizational levels in a positive manner. (Required)
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of position classification and compensation policy and practice. (Required)
  • Ability to use discretionary judgment in handling confidential matters and sensitive information with discretion and tact. (Required)
  • Ability to design spreadsheets and databases. (Required)
  • Ability to answer questions, solve problems, and make sound recommendations by gathering data, conducting administrative analysis requiring knowledge of University's administration, organization, policies, procedures, and practices. Ability and judgment to make effective, logical, and responsible decisions and to lead individuals and groups in implanting decisions to improve organizational effectiveness. (Required)
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to establish and maintain professional and effective working relationships with staff, faculty, and other campus entities. Demonstrated ability to work with people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures and from different campus entities in a manner that elicits professional and respectful communication. (Required)
  • Demonstrated skill in making oral presentations to groups or individuals which are organized and informative, taking into account varying degrees of expertise and familiarity with personnel concepts and policy language. (Required)
