Full-time Job Announcement

Position: College Receptionist

Location: Athens Campus

Department: Division of Student Affairs

Reports to: Director of Admissions

Salary/Benefits: Salary is commensurate with education and experience. State of Georgia benefits package.

Responsibilities:

  • Answer a multi-line telephone console in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Attentively listen, note questions and requests, and use sound judgment and knowledge of the organization, operations, and procedures to appropriately respond to questions and requests posed by callers and visitors to the campus.
  • Maintain confidentiality by following Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) guidelines in providing information on students and employees to callers’ and visitors.
  • Direct calls and campus visitors to appropriate personnel for assistance.
  • Record messages accurately and legibly according to established practices.
  • Forward messages to appropriate parties in a timely manner.
  • Communicate emergency information to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Business Administrative Technology or related field.
  • BANNER experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Experience with a multi-line telephone and the ability to multi-task.
