Description
The Undergraduate Student Services Specialist will serve as the main point of contact for prospective undergraduate students and their parents, teachers and community members on and off campus, and a central resource for information about undergraduate academic programs and opportunities within the College of the Environment. This position will require being completely comfortable on web and virtual platforms, designing and implementing cutting-edge virtual recruitment programming. The individual will provide a positive force in social media, working within platforms regularly used by high school and college students to gain a national following.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree AND at least four years’ experience in student services, recruitment, student counseling, or related experience. A highly motivated self-starter with an ability to develop strategies, set and meet goals, make decisions independently, and multi-task and prioritize in fast-paced environments. • Demonstrated lead experience in the management and facilitation of student groups. • Web, online and social media savvy, able to create and maintain a strong online and social media presence. • Team player who can play both a leading and a supporting role. • Experience working with underrepresented populations. Must be able to effectively communicate across various demographics beyond and within the UW campus. • Experience with undergraduate admissions. • Experience with teens and families. • Strong quantitative data manipulation skills such as advanced Excel spreadsheet capability. • Strong communications, interpersonal, presentation and computer skills. • Leadership in event planning and implementation experience. • Flexibility and availability to work evenings and weekends.
