Academic Professional

The School of Mathematics at the Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for two Academic Professional positions in mathematics, with anticipated start dates of summer 2017. The role of Academic Professionals is vital to advancing our undergraduate teaching in the School and supporting our educational and training missions through academic administration. Additional details about the work of Academic Professionals in the School is available at: http://www.math.gatech.edu/employment-opportunities Georgia Tech has recently adapted its academic professional career track in order to promote and reward high performance in this stream. While both positions will be non-tenure-track 12 month appointments, subject to annual evaluation, the School views Academic Professionals as integral to its long-term mission. One of the two positions is initially renewable for a period of up to two years.

The successful candidates will have excellent teaching credentials, with clear potential for taking on responsibility in teaching, educational leadership, and administrative tasks. Candidates will possess attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work well with faculty, staff, students, as well as the broader university community. Experience with technology in teaching and administration will be considered a plus. Two or more years of experience in a university environment, and a Ph.D. in mathematics or a related field, such as physics or computer science, is required for this position.
