Required Degree: Master's degree in related field required by start date

 

Experience:   

Preferred:

  • Experience teaching in higher education
  • Ability to analyze multi-faceted problems and develop solutions
  • Knowledge of resources to stay informed of current economic, career, political and education trends
  • Familiarity with international and domestic experiential learning initiatives from entities across BYU campus
  • Familiarity with College of Humanities and University's experiential learning and professional development priorities and program standards

Required:

  • Superior training skills
  • Project management skills
  • Superior team work and coordination skills
  • Extensive knowledge of professional competencies and how they are developed
  • Instructional skills in both classroom and distance learning environments
  • Knowledge of industry hiring trends and practices industry experience in recruitment or hiring 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, and administrators both within the College of Humanities and among other units on campus
  • Professional experience in career development / services 

 

Duties/Expectations

Adjunct Instructor will teach HCOLL 399R-Professional Internship (Online) utilizing our core curriculum.  Instructor will hold regular office hours to meet individual student's needs.

 

This course helps student initiate a series of professional experiences, while on their internship, that allow them to develop and demonstrate understanding of key competencies in professional contexts.  Students will learn how to harness intention, feedback, reflection, and integration of new learning to translate the value of the professional competencies into a powerful, evidence-based story of what they offer future employees.
