The Department of Special Education in the College of Education at The University of Texas at Austin is recruiting for a professional track faculty position to collaborate with faculty members in our Learning Disabilities and Behavioral Disorders area on development of an online master’s program. 

This is a non-tenure track, nine-month position beginning fall 2024. This position can be hybrid or fully remote based on the candidate pool. This is a two-year fixed-term position, with the possibility of renewal. Continuation of the position is contingent upon annual performance review, student enrollment, and availability of funding.  


We seek a colleague with expertise in the areas of reading, writing, and mathematics for students with high-incidence disabilities, including linguistically and culturally diverse students. The primary responsibility of the person in this position will be to work with the faculty to develop the program structure and course content for an online master’s program in high-incidence disabilities. The successful candidate should have knowledge of K-12 special education policy and service delivery models in U.S. schools, as well as common disabilities that impact academic performance, such as learning disabilities in the areas of reading, writing, and mathematics (e.g., dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia) . The successful candidate also will participate in service to the department, college, and field.
