Nell Hodgson Woodruff Emory School of Nursing Simulation Internship -- Emory’s Summer College Internship Program is offered for 10 weeks, from June 6 – August 11, 2022. This position is onsite only at our campus building in Decatur, GA; not hybrid, not virtual. The Emory School of Nursing Simulation Internship has been designed for health professional students to develop their expertise in simulation-based education (SBE) methodologies. The components of this internship offer an opportunity to build skills in designing, implementing, and evaluating simulation-based educational activities and assessments. Interns will gain experiences with a wide range of simulation technologies, standardized patients, educational methodologies, and assessment strategies. Interns are mentored by simulation center staff and nursing school faculty.

Job Description:

  • Under minimal supervision, be able to take initiative and seek out tasks within the department.
  • Interact with staff and students regularly and act in simulation settings as needed.
  • Assist with department events and maintaining lab area(s).
  • Maintain knowledge of safe keeping/usage of equipment found in lab.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Actively enrolled in a bachelor’s program in Nursing, health technology, engineering, computer science or related field.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft programs and data entry
  • Strong communication skills

NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
