Job Description:

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

Framingham State University, in conjunction with the Accelerate The Future Foundation have created community based cohorts with participating Mental Health agencies across Massachusetts. These cohorts are part of the Department of Graduate and Continuing Education department. The students who participate in these cohorts will graduate with a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology. The part-time Accelerate the Future (ATF) Cohort Program Coordinator provides overall help with many activities within the FSU ATF Cohort Program. This person will work with faculty, and have direct communication with students, mental health agencies, and staff within the program.  

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Works directly under program director and will meet weekly and as needed.

EXAMPLES OF SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Makes recommendations to DGCE Dean(s) on student recruitment and retention strategies.
• Organizational skills to manage work with up to 5 cohorts
• Assist with tracking and reviewing applications to the program
• Attending weekly meetings with Director and other program staff
• Attend information sessions for new cohorts
• Attend occasional Accelerate The Future events
• Contributes meaningfully to the diversity, equity, anti-racism, and inclusion efforts of the university.
• Supports in the implementing orientation for new graduate cohorts
• Collaborates with community health agency to identify agency and FSU expectations (info sessions, application process, application preparation and graduation)
• Coordinate practicum and internship placements with the community health agencies so experiences are consistent with state license requirements, student and agency needs (e.g., communicates with site supervisors regarding licensure requirements, practicum and internship requirements)
• Communicate with Director and Advisors on concerns coming up related to curriculum, student issues, etc.
• Other responsibilities as needed

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This is a 18-hour/week position in the FSU ATF Cohort Program. Occasional evening work may be required. Part of the work may be done remotely.

Position is grant-funded and expected to last approximately 3 years.

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Evidence of strong written and communication skills
• Experience developing and sustaining collaborative relationships with colleagues, preferable in support of student success
• Understanding of mental health programs and graduate course requirements for counseling psychology
• Candidates who are bilingual in English and Spanish or English and Portuguese are strongly encouraged to apply.

Additional Information:

These are part-time, non-benefited, contract positions, not to exceed 18 hours per week. The pay rate is $37 per hour.

These positions are grant-funded.  Grant funding is anticipated to be for three years and ongoing employment is contingent upon available grant funding.
