The Department of Psychology at Cornell University invites applicants for an open-rank, tenure-track position in Cognition to begin July 1, 2023. Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent degree, a strong record of published research and external funding commensurate with their rank upon hiring, and interest or experience in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Applicants at all career stages are encouraged to apply. We are seeking innovative scientists whose research investigates fundamental mechanisms of human perceptual and cognitive systems. Priority will be given to research programs that focus on perception using advanced computational and quantitative methodologies. However, the specific area is open to all areas within cognitive science. Those whose research bridges traditional areas in cognition such as higher-level cognition, language, and memory are also encouraged to apply. We welcome applicants that are involved in AI from a Cognitive Science perspective.
Candidates are expected to establish a vigorous, externally funded, and internationally recognized research program. Candidates are also expected to contribute to our rigorous and innovative curriculum at the graduate and undergraduate levels. The successful candidate will seek to leverage the technological resources and collaborative environment of Cornell University to enhance their research program. The department has a broad base in psychology, neuroscience, and development and is internationally recognized for its distinctive ecological perspective. We also embrace interdisciplinary and translational approaches, with strong connections to Cornell's Bronfenbrenner Center for Translational Research. 
The department and college provide ready access to research dedicated neuroimaging facilities, including EEG and MRI. We maintain significant research collaborations with information science and computer science faculty at the Ithaca campus and the Cornell Tech campus in New York City as well as with faculty at the Weill Cornell the medical campus. The successful candidate also will have the opportunity to join Cornell's Cognitive Science Program (https://cogsci.cornell.edu/ ) which brings together faculty and students from across the University and supports conferences, lectures and research from wide areas of Cognitive Science.
