COACH Operator - Per diem

Job Summary:

The C.O.A.C.H. Operator will drive a thirty-eight (38) foot Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) to various Los Angeles inner city locations as part of a hospital-based community outreach program. Primary responsibilities will include MMU set-up, breakdown, maintenance and security. Other responsibilities will include basic patient intake and registration.

  • Drives mobile medical unit to and from site visits.
  • Arranges for MMU security and adequate parking at each site visit.
  • Oversees MMU maintenance and fueling.
  • Provides for MMU set-up, breakdown and storage, including set up of all medical and other equipment (i.e., dynamap, scales, photocopy machine, audiometer).
  • Assists Clinical Nurse with monitoring and maintaining inventory of supplies and medications.
  • Assists with patient registration at sites.
  • Performs patient intake procedures including height/weight, head circumference measurements, vital signs (temperature, pulse, respirations, and blood pressure), and vision screening, utilizing standardized policies and procedures. Responsible for accurate recording and reporting.
  • Transports sealed laboratory specimens (blood, urine, etc.) from MMU to CSMC lab at end of each site day.
  • Coordinates interior and exterior cleaning of MMU with subcontracted agencies.
  • Provides for daily cleaning of MMU before and after each site visit.

Educational Requirements:

High School Diploma/GED - High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of state-approved audiometric screening course.

Licenses:

Current, Class A or B Commercial California Drivers License required.

Experience:

Minimum of one (1) year experience driving passenger van, tractor-trailer, bus, or similar vehicle. Basic knowledge of motor vehicle repair and maintenance
