Job Summary

Under the direction of the Head Coach, serve as the Offensive Coordinator and assist the Head Coach in all duties assigned relative to an NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) program. Assist with all aspects of coaching and team management. Assist in the conduct of pre-season, regular season and permissible out of season practices and training programs. Travel to away games and teaches those strategies that are related to football at the collegiate level of competition. Assist with the recruitment of prospective students for participation in intercollegiate athletic program.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Assists the Head Coach in insuring that every participating player is enrolled in at least 12 units of credit each quarter and completing an average of 13 units per quarter, maintains an overall GPA of at least 2.0, and makes normal progress towards graduation.

 

  • In accordance with UC Davis Athletics’ hiring process for coaches, UC Davis will require any head coach or assistant coach final candidate(s) to sign an authorization for a reference check. Pursuant to your signed authorization form, we will inquire with your prior institution(s) about any records of substantiated misconduct.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Required:

 

Additional Minimum License/Certification

  • Current CPR & First Aid certification or must obtain within 30 days from date of hire and certified bi-annually.

 

  • Complete and pass the National Collegiate Athletic Association Recruiting Examination.

 

  • Must pass the Recruiting Certification Test per NCAA bylaw 12.1, 2.2.1.

Minimum Education/Experience

  • Experience in the sport of football.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)

  • Knowledge of the rules and playing strategies of football. This includes, but is not limited to, teaching techniques, coaching strategies and safety measures that are necessary for the UC Davis student-athlete to compete at the collegiate level.

 

  • Skills to express ideas clearly, concisely, and logically, both verbally and in writing

 

Preferred:

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Experience as an offensive coordinator.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)

  • Ability to learn the complex policies and procedures regarding academic eligibility of UC Davis student-athletes. These include UC Davis, conference and the National Collegiate Athletic Association policies and procedures.

 

  • Knowledge of campus, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
