The department of Otolaryngologyat Greenspring Stations is seeking a CO  Patient Service Coordinator who will offer friendly, courteous, and confidential assistance to ensure every patient has an outstanding customer service experience during his or her visit to the clinic at Greenspring Station. Maintains accurate information on each patient to facilitate the patient encounter. Uses automated systems to expedite patient scheduling, pre-registration, check-in, and checkout. Works with others in a team environment.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

• Schedules patient cosmetic consultations.
• Relays information to patients regarding preparation for laboratory tests and examinations.
• Coordinates visits for the division of Facial Plastic Surgery along with assisting other divisions within the department as needed.
• Contacts patients and/or family members to obtain accurate pre-registration information and to confirm appointments.
• Manages Facial Plastic online appointment requests by responding to scheduling inquiries and tracking patient volume and data.
• Verifies and enters pre-registration and insurance information into the computer system. Fills vacancies due to cancellations.
• Registers patients for clinical appointments utilizing an electronic medical records (EMR) system. Informs patients of costs or care being provided, and guides them to appropriate resources for further information, guidance, or assistance.
• Arranges or assists in arranging patient transportation.
• Answers phones and provides routine information to callers.
• Collects time of service payments, issues receipts, and prepares cash settlement records.
• Enters patient charges into EMR system.
• Discusses patient charges, if appropriate, with patients and/or patients' families.
• Liaise with the clinic coordinators and Financial Assistance to answer questions about patient charges.
• Assists with basic insurance and third-party queries and explains payment policies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• One year work experience required in a similar service- oriented industry.
