HARBORVIEW'S PATIENT CARE SERVICES UNITS have multiple outstanding opportunities for PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN positions in the UW Medicine TELESITTER PROGRAM.

     90% FTE-Variable shift
75% FTE-Variable shift
60% FTE-Variable shift

The individuals in these positions will provide monitoring from a central monitoring center for patients who require continuous video monitoring for safety. Typical duties include:

Provide visual monitoring for safe patient observation through video/active microphone technology
Demonstrate understanding and proficiency in EPIC Monitor software, camera monitoring equipment, and additional communication platforms.
Communicates with patients and intervenes to maintain patient safety by verbally prompting the patient to behave safely until their care team arrives
Rapidly alerts the patient’s care team of a monitored patient’s unsafe activity or care need via communication technologies such as via phone or Epic Rover application
At times the individual in this position may assist the medical and nursing staff by performing delegated tasks that involve direct patient care; transportation of patients, supplies and specimens; ordering and stocking of supplies; and maintenance/set up of special equipment. As directed by nursing staff, may check patient glucose levels or remove Foley catheter Additionally, the person in this role may participate in unit and selected departmental activities to promote effective problem solving and communication. REQUIREMENTS:
High School graduation and six months experience involving direct patient care or customer service in a health care setting; OR equivalent education/experience.
Must have a current, valid Nursing Assistant-Certified (NAC) with the State of Washington (please indicate your licensure information)

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Valid BLS/CPR Card
