    HARBORVIEW'S PATIENT CARE SERVICES UNITS have multiple outstanding opportunities for CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT (CNA) / PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN (PCT) positions.

    PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Direct and indirect care to patients and their families under the general supervision of the Registered Nurse
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living: bathing, showering, dressing, getting in and out of bed or a chair, walking, using the toilet, and eating
  • Maintain a safe environment of care
  • Patient transportation
  • Prepare patients for surgery
  • Perform non-invasive lab procedures
  • Transport equipment and supplies
  • Assist with treatments
  • Perform various clerical tasks
  • Take vital signs

  • Our Patient Care Services units with current opportunities include:


    MEDICAL CARDIAC ICU (MCICU):17 bed unit providing care to critically-ill patients with conditions related to multi-system organ failure; gastrointestinal disease; blood infections/sepsis; cancer; cardiac disease; lung disease; kidney disease; liver disease.
    90% FTE - Day shift

    MEDICINE/SURGICAL/TELEMETRY UNIT:Provide quality care to a wide range of complex and acutely ill patients, primarily medicine, cardiology and surgical and vascular patients requiring telemetry monitoring.
    90% FTE - Night shift
    Per diem - Day shift

    MEDICINE/TELEMETRY UNIT:32 bed acute care unit that works with a multidisciplinary care team to care for patients with a wide range of complex medical/surgical problems that often encompasses chronic underlying conditions, cardiac issues, substance abuse, and socioeconomic difficulties.
    Per Diem - Variable shift

    NEUROSCIENCE/TELEMETRY ACUTE UNIT:45 bed acute care unit floor specializes in the management of acute trauma and acute vascular disease, patients with aneurysms, as well as other neurosurgical problems such as brain tumors and spinal disorders. Also provides expert management of stroke and epilepsy patients.
    90% FTE - Night shift
    60% FTE - Day shift
    Per Diem - Day shift

    FLOAT POOL:Lots of opportunity to explore all aspects of Harborview. We have a total of 10 inpatient acute care units, 4 ICUs, and boarder units and float to mental health units. We provide and allocate our resources for the hospital; help to decompress the Emergency Department when there is a high census.

    90% FTE - Night shift

    TRANSITIONAL CARE UNIT:Provides an efficient way to care for our long-term patients that no longer meet our acute care inpatient criteria and do not require the same level of care.
    90% FTE - Variable shift
    Per Diem - Variable shift

    TRAUMA/ORTHOPEDICS UNIT: 26-bed unit specializing in acute care level orthopedic injuries as well as medicine and other general surgery patients. Patients have typically sustained complex orthopedic injuries including fractures of the spine, pelvis, long bones, hands or feet. Also specializes in the care of patients who have undergone replantation surgeries and flap procedures.
    100% FTE - Evening shift
    60% FTE - Night Shift

    TRAUMA/SURGERY UNIT:Staff members work as an interdisciplinary team to provide safe, quality care for adult, geriatric and adolescent trauma, general surgery, and vascular surgery patients. These patients have unique challenges often encompassing complex wound care, substance abuse and chronic underlying conditions.
    Per Diem - Variable shift

    REHAB THERAPY AND CLINICS:Direct patient care including exercise, mobilizing, ambulating or positioning as directed by nursing staff.
    75% FTE - Day shift, 10-hour shifts (Nursing Mobility Tech)
    75% FTE - Variable shift
    75% FTE - Variable shift

    INPATIENT TRAUMA REHABILITATION UNIT: Provides care 24 hours a day to our rehabilitation inpatients with therapy provided 3-6 hours per day, 6 days per week. Inpatient rehabilitation is provided for stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and disease, multiple trauma, and burns. In addition to our rehabilitation patients, we have 4 medical-surgical beds for acute care patients who are potential rehabilitation candidates but not yet ready for rehabilitation and for the post-operative stay of our sacral flap patients.
    100% FTE - Combination of Evening and Night shift (2 8-hour evening shifts 3:00pm-11:30pm, 2 12-hour night shifts 7:00pm-7:30am)

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    Current, valid Certified Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC) with WA State (please indicate your NA-C credential number on your resume)

    High School graduation and six months experience involving direct patient care or customer service in a health care setting; OR equivalent education/experience.

    Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider CPR card.
