Position Description:
Work Schedule: Full Time, Monday - Friday, 7:45am - 5:00pm; Must arrive at 6:20am for IVF Retrieval Week.
Position requires On-Call weekends
Work Location: OBGYN, Reproductive Endocrinology; Women and Infants Center

Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, the Medical Assistant is responsible for providing patient care in the clinic. Helps assist physicians with patient care procedures and serves as chaperone. Works in lab area running tests, and sending out specimens to UAB lab. May do venipuncture and injections. Helps organize, maintain, and file patient charts. May help with administrative duties such as scheduling appointments and scanning records.

Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility provides comprehensive care to men and women who desire pregnancy, cancer patients who wish to pursue family planning, as well as women seeking treatment for endocrine disorders which affect the reproductive system.


Position Requirements:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED required.

LICENSE, CERTIFICATION AND/OR REGISTRATION:
Currently certified as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) required. If certified by another accrediting agency, AAMA or NHA certification must be obtained within six (6) months of employment. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required or must be obtained within thirty (30) days of employment.
