Job Description


The Cloud Engineer supports the development of web-based analytical applications by providing expertise and administration of cloud infrastructure for the Office of Analytics and Institutional Effectiveness. The primary functions include:

• Design, build, and manage secure and scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS
• Monitor and optimize cloud performance and costs
• Troubleshoot and resolve cloud-related issues
• Audit and manage user access to cloud resources
• Contribute to new technology selection, experimentation, and implementation of best
practices


Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
• 2+ years of professional experience in the administration of cloud-based resources
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for
infrastructure deployments
• Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
• Good understanding of security risks in cloud environments and knowledge of testing and
mitigation techniques
• Experience administering Linux servers: configuring, updating, managing user access,
and troubleshooting.
• Passion for implementing industry standards and best practices.
• Effective communication skill


Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in scripting languages, such as Python and Bash
• Professional experience in managing AWS IAM users and roles
• Strong experience in the AWS ecosystem
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts, including protocols, VPCs, subnets, and
gateways
• Experience administering relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Experience with security testing methods, such as vulnerability scanning and penetration
testing


Salary Information

80,000 - 85,000

The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
