Job Description:

The Department of Nursing has offered nationally accredited graduate and undergraduate programs since 1980 and presently has an opening for an Assistant/ Associate Clinical Professor in Nursing. Expertise as a psychiatric nurse practitioner is required. Candidates must demonstrate the skills needed to support a quality student-centered teaching environment, currency in one's field through scholarship or clinical  practice  and the willingness to maintain the service commitments as required of SUNY Poly clinical faculty.  Candidates must hold or be eligible for New York State Registration as a nurse and /or nurse practitioner.

SUNY Poly is time sharing this position with ICAN. The successful candidate will spend approximately 50% of the time engaged in clinical work in ICAN's school-based program and 50% of their time as a faculty member at SUNYPOLY. 

The specific responsibilities for this position include:

  • Providing Assessments and observations of children referred to the school-based embedded programs.
  • Psychoeducation and Medication Management of children referred to the school-based embedded programs.

  • Teach two courses per semester.

  • Act as a preceptor for students assigned to clinicals at ICAN.

  • Assist with the advisement of students involved in the psychiatric nurse practitioner program

  • Other reasonable duties as assigned.

Salary: $110,000-$130,000

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters degree from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized organization is required but DNP, DNS or PHD preferred
  • Certification as a PMHNP.

  • 2 years of experience as a PMHNP.

  • College level teaching experience.

  • Research record or potential
