Job Summary/Responsibilities
| UNF School of Nursing is seeking a pool of qualified clinical supervisors to teach in a variety of healthcare settings (including intensive care, medical-surgical, pediatrics, labor and delivery, long-term care, rehabilitation, mental health, outpatient centers, community partners, etc.) Locations throughout northeast Florida (Nassau, Duval, Clay, St. John’s) counties. Clinical courses run for 8 to 12-hour shifts, 7 days per week. Some flexibility to work around clinical supervisor’s schedule. Clinical supervisors perform the following functions depending on each course: clinical teaching and supervision, simulation learning activities, grading clinical assignments, etc.
The department invites applications to create a pool of qualified candidates to fill Clinical Supervisor, Nursing positions. The pool will remain open for one calendar year (through March, 2025). Once the period of the pool expires, any remaining applicants in the pool will need to re-apply to be considered for appointment.
Appointment from a pool to a vacancy is not automatic. Only those applicants who have been assessed as suitable through a selection process that complies with recruitment and appointment standards can be considered for selection and contacted for an interview. All applicants will be advised of the outcome of their application by the conclusion of the recruitment process.
The Clinical Supervisor will provide direct supervision for groups of prelicensure students in clinical courses. Main responsibilities include:
· Evaluate student achievement of specific course clinical objectives
· Serve as a liaison between UNF School of Nursing and the assigned clinical partner
· Collaborate with course faculty on student progress
· Facilitating learning opportunities for students within the clinical setting
Model a professional nursing role
Required Qualifications
Minimum of a Master of Science in Nursing degree
Recent clinical experience
Clinical teaching experience (preferred)
Unencumbered Florida licensure as an RN or APRN
Preferred Qualifications
