Primary Purpose:

Clinical staff pharmacists fill orders for medications, monitor patient medication therapies, provide drug information, and supervise and direct support personnel.  In the absence of the pharmacy manager, a clinical staff pharmacist may be required to assume the essential responsibilities and perform the duties of the pharmacy manager.



Qualifications

 

Knowledge and Skills:

 

Education: B.S. in pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy is required. PharmD, preferred degree.

 

License and Certification: Licensed or eligible for pharmacist licensure in the state of Ohio ACLS preferred.

 

Years of Experience:

Greater that or equal to a six-month hospital pharmacy internship or hospital experience as a pharmacist is preferred.  Preference will be given to completion of a PGY1 pharmacy residency program (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).

Required Skills and Knowledge: Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision; work cooperatively with health-system and pharmacy staff; handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule; set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond quickly to emergent requests; exercise sound professional judgment; communicate effectively (orally and in writing); and meet the pharmaceutical care needs of the patient populations served by UC Health.
