What we want

The department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science is looking for qualified candidates to serve as Clinical Social Worker MSI. This position provides direct clinical services to patients. Serves as a liaison between patients, physicians, and community resources. Functions as behavioral health clinician within Texas Child Access Through Telemedicine (TCHATT), Child Psychiatry Access Network (CPAN), and other grant funded projects with the Telebehavioral Care Program. Develops, provides, and coordinates care plans and direct services with schools, primary care facilities, and other stakeholders. The successful applicant will bring an expert level of clinical experience to the position and understand the demands of supporting executives in a fast-paced environment. These persons must be professional, enjoy working in a high-volume environment and be able to apply strong organizational skills while being flexible in their daily routine. What you need to know

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in applicable field

  • Two years of behavioral health-related experience

Required Licenses and Certifications:

  • Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the State of Texas

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working with individuals and communities with different perspectives, talents and lived experiences

  • Experience working within telehealth or a related field

Preferred Licenses and Certifications:

  • Texas Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Professional Counselor- Associate (LPC-A), Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)

  • Must maintain licensure for continued employment

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Literacy and competency with utilizing technology

  • Strong organizational skills and flexibility

Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Intervention - The Clinical Social Worker MSI will be a clinician within the Telebehavioral care team, utilizing the SBIRT model to deliver brief evidence-based interventions and therapy to K-12 via telehealth to students. Use assessment tools to track progress and tailor interventions, with supervision. Provide supervised evidence-based risk assessments and safety planning interventions. Work with school staff, parents, and students to serve and support individuals with varying degrees of symptom severity.

  • Clinical Service - Collaborate with other health professionals and provide integrated care. Assist with supervised intakes and referrals to long term services, as needed. Provide supervised psychoeducation to school staff, students, and families. Conduct supervised workshops and seminars as needed.

  • Compliance - Ensure compliance with applicable regulations including HIPAA and FERPA. Document services and activities per department standards and assist with program evaluation activities to track and analyze utilization and effectiveness of services. Performs other duties as assigned.
