Clinical Skills Laboratory Pharmacist, Part-Time

High Point University is currently seeking a part-time, Clinical Skills Laboratory Pharmacist. The person in this position is responsible for assisting the Applied Laboratory Coordinator in teaching PharmD students in the clinical skills laboratory sequence. Specifically, this person will assist with the facilitation of clinical skills laboratories activities for 3 to 15 hours per week as directed by the Applied Laboratory Coordinator and respective course coordinators. The work schedule will be determined by the Applied Laboratory Coordinator based on department need and class schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Pharm.D. or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Additional post-graduate training (e.g., PGY1 residency, PGY2 residency, fellowship) and professional certifications (BCPS, CDE) are also highly preferred and preference will be given to candidates with this additional training.

Experience and Training:

  • Eligible for Pharmacy licensure in North Carolina with at least 1 year of previous pharmacy work experience. Experience working with students as a mentor or preceptor is highly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Ability:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and computer skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
  • Skill dealing with a distinct group of people
  • Ability to work with and teach using electronic medical records

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Assists the Applied Laboratory Coordinator in teaching clinical skills laboratory content within the HPU School of Pharmacy curriculum.
  • Provides mentorship for students in the School of Pharmacy during clinical skills laboratories as appointed by the Applied Laboratory Coordinator.
  • Integrate and enhance collaborations among the clinical sciences and basic sciences in areas of education.
  • Advances the service missions of the School of Pharmacy and High Point University to meet community needs. Act as a representative and advocate for the department, both within the University and externally.
  • Utilizes ExamSoft® or other software provided by SOP to conduct all SOP assessments.
  • Provides unique targeted clinical assistance when asked.
  • Abides by University and School of Pharmacy policies.
  • Undertakes other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Applied Laboratory Coordinator.
