Position Summary
Our research division is growing with new studies and projects! Join our team to work on a variety of studies in the area of anesthesiology. We are looking for candidates with backgrounds or interests in clinical research who would like to work in a dynamic environment. This position in the Sleepy Brain Laboratory group focuses on novel electroencephalographic, neuroimaging, and molecular markers and interventions for neuropsychiatric disorders. The position involves the interaction with patients with altered levels of consciousness.


Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Participates in the recruitment of study participants as identified in related protocol; explains study involvement to participants, screens for eligibility and obtains informed consent of participants; and supports regulatory compliance through communications with the regulatory team under the guidance and direction of the PI or a senior research coordinator.
  • Completes all necessary paperwork/documentation according to study protocol, coordinates study visits/schedules/follow-ups in a timely manner.
  • Performs basic/scripted assessments to confirm eligibility to participate in study; explains and schedules laboratory and diagnostic procedures and/or treatment as required in the study; refers participants to basic resources as necessary.
  • Collects data from study participants, medical records, interviews, questionnaires, diagnostic tests and other sources; performs basic evaluation and interpretation of collected data and prepares appropriate reports and documentation as necessary; prepares and distributes study packets and information.
  • Routinely collects electroencephalographic, neuroimaging, and/or bio-specimen data under clinical research protocols under the direction of the PI or senior research coordinator. Administers tests of cognition and/or evaluates all lab and clinical assessments to ensure they are completed in a timely manner as trained by the PI or a senior lab member.
  • Assists with other duties as assigned by research team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical or engineering background with interest in neuroscience and clinical research, demonstrated ability to implement protocol procedures, conduct research, and record and present findings, and an interest in pursuit of advanced education in field is ideal as well as technical familiarity with MATLAB.
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Effective organization skills.


Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent high school certification plus two years of administrative or research experience, preferably in a medical environment.
  • Associate’s degree or two years of college may substitute for experience.

Salary Range
$18.47 - $27.73 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
