    Job Overview

    The Clinical Research Project Coordinator provides administrative and financial support and coordinates for MWCCS and STAR research studies, in duties that include but are not limited to:

    • Assists in enrollment operations and recruitment and screening of study participants
    • Facilitates appropriate communication with study participants, and investigators
    • Maintains appropriate study documentation
    • Oversee subject enrollment to ensure that informed consent is properly obtained and documented
    • Assists with IRB submissions
    • Coordinates sub-studies
    • Assists with research participant retention activities
    • Assists the Project Director in day-to-day maintenance of research activities and office facilities. Assists in setting up staff meetings, and community advisory board meetings
    • Attends various staff meetings.
    • Works with the Division Finance and Research Administrator II, assisting with financial matters: processes participant incentives, manages petty cash for reimbursements, processes expense reports and spend authorizations; orders office and medical supplies; and purchases meals and snacks for participants; and submits purchase order requests.

    Depending on skills, they may be assigned other related duties.

    Work Interactions

    Reporting to the MWCCS Project Director and Division Finance & Research Administrator II, the Clinical Research Project Coordinator collaborates with research assistants/specialists, the medical team and the data team, including the Data Manager, Assistant Project Directors, Division Administrator, Project Director and the Principal Investigators.

    They also schedule participant visits in coordination with the clinical team; coordinate data entry and edits with the data team; and obtain approvals from the Division Administrator for participant incentives payments and travel reimbursements.

    As well, they supervise the Administrative Specialist 1 and student assistants.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree - preferably in health or related field
    • 3 to 5 years of practical experience - preferably in a coordinator position
    • Organizational skills
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a detail orientation
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and in the team

    Preferred qualifications

    • Ability to speak, read, and write Spanish
    • Knowledge of research methods
