A full time Clinical Research Manager position is available in Solid Organ Transplant in the Department of Surgery at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.  The Transplant Clinical Research program and the University of Cincinnati has a long history of novel immunosuppressive research in kidney and liver transplants.  The manager will oversee the transplant research coordinator team at both UC and The Christ Hospital.  The manager will be responsible for regulatory oversight of all studies including IND, investigator initiated, and sponsored pharmaceutical studies.  Our team has a dynamic collaboration with Cincinnati Children's Medical Center for mechanistic and translational studies which the manager will facilitate.  Due to the nature of transplantation, adaptability and flexibility are key qualities for a successful manager in this position allowing us to transform the future of solid organ transplantation.

• Manage all aspects of research program and clinical studies including education, teaching and training. Assist in planning, writing and implementing the clinical study’s goals and objectives.
• In conjunction with Principal Investigator (PI) or Director, interpret and apply current research findings in area of clinical specialty.
• In conjunction with PI and Director, report findings in professional journals and local, state, and national conferences. Edit abstracts and manuscripts.
• Develop and execute data management plans. Assist with development of analysis plans. Conduct basic analysis and interpret findings.
• Create, test, troubleshoot, and provide advanced maintenance for databases.
• Act as a liaison with medical staff, university departments, ancillary departments and/or satellite facilities.
• Act as a consultant within area of clinical expertise.
• Prepare and submit research documentation (i.e. IRB submissions, educational materials, reports, grant renewal reports, and study forms).
• Act as a resource for faculty and staff regarding contracts/budgets for industry and sponsored research. Serve as a referral resource.
• Work with necessary parties to identify compliance, legal, IP and business/financial risk. Mitigate risk through working with physicians/faculty, divisions, legal and/or other departments.
• Utilize skills to contribute to UC/UCPC strategic planning.
• Maintain budgets and contracts.
• Maintain clinicaltrial.gov records.
• Assist with creation of case report forms.
• May serve as Principal Investigator on select research projects.
• May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Nine (9) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Five (5) years related experience.

• Experience in an academic or clinical setting.
• SoCRA or ACRP certification.
• Registered Nurse.
