Description

General Responsibilities

  • To serve as a liaison with medical staff, University Departments, ancillary departments and/or satellite facilities.

  • To organize patient enrollment planning.

  • To conduct quality assurance activities.

  • To compile and analyze data.

  • To develop and implement procedures, maintain records, track progress, and conduct quality assurance on data collected.

  • To serve as a mentor to junior staff, including student assistants.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages all aspects of the study, including day-to-day operations and education and training. Develops protocol-specific systems and documents including process flows, training manuals, and SOPs. Monitors study budgets and acts as a consultant on areas of expertise.

  • Coordinates with marketing to design and administer marketing materials for the study.

  • Prepares and submits multiple levels of research documentation (i.e. IRB, educational materials, reports, grant renewal reports, and study forms).

  • Collects information to determine study feasibility. Makes recommendations to investigators and oversight organizations, as appropriate.

  • Assists in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and accrediting agencies (sponsors), including maintaining any required documentation.

  • Assists in conducting literature reviews and may contribute in assessing solutions for operational challenges and shortcomings of existing protocols.

  • Prepares for and leads team meetings. Assists colleagues in identifying efficiencies and improving processes. Serves as a mentor to junior staff.

  • Screens, ascertains eligibility, recruits, consents, and enrolls prospective participants.

  • Identifies various communities of interest to ensure adequate design, implementation, and testing of study aims.

  • Orders/secures supplies and equipment as necessary.

  • Leads data collection efforts and uses the study REDCap database to record data.

  • Interacts with the Expert Advisory Panel and study participants in person or phone to support retention as needed.

  • Coordinates and assists as needed with data entry, cleaning, and coding.

  • In conjunction with PI, interprets and applies findings of study and reports findings in professional journals and local, state, and national conferences.

  • Facilitates compliance relative to the university, School of Nursing, and sponsor policies, Office of Research and Scholarship within the School of Nursing, and University policies and procedures.

  • Ethical conduct is a fundamental expectation for every UAB community member. All employees must abide by the standards of behavior outlined in the UAB Enterprise Code of Conduct.   • Performs other related duties as directed to support the missions of the School of Nursing.

  • Annual Salary Range: $50,050 - $81,330



    Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.

    Preferences

    • Master's degree in a health-related field (Health Services/Administration, a plus).

    • At least one year of previous program coordinator/administrator or related experience and a high degree of organizational skill.

    • Prior survey research and qualitative research experience.

    Key Skills

    • Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams)

    • Data analysis and management software (SPSS, NVivo, and/or Dedoose), and EndNote

    • Editing experience.

    • Ability to construct tables, graphs, and charts.
