Description

 

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Neurology Chair Office, is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator II. The mission of the UAB Alzheimer's Disease Center is to overcome Alzheimer's disease and related disorders by conducting, fostering, and enabling research at UAB and through national collaborations, by providing the highest level of care to patients and families, and by educating both professionals and the public about aging, dementia, and brain health. Our research is aimed at reducing Deep South disparities in Alzheimer's disease.

General Responsibilities

 

  • To serve as a liaison with medical staff, University Departments, ancillary departments and/or satellite facilities.
  • To organize patient enrollment planning.
  • To conduct quality assurance activities.
  • To compile and analyze data.
  • To develop and implement procedures, maintain records, track progress, and conduct quality assurance on data collected.
  • To serve as a mentor to junior staff, including student assistants.

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Study and sub-study visit activities (consenting, data entry, payment processing, specimen processing, etc.)
  • Study and sub-study coordination (pre-visit screening, scheduling, visit reminders, etc.)
  • Ensures completeness of all visit activities.
  • Follows up with staff and faculty as needed to remind them of outstanding visit items.
  • Maintains physical and data storage of study records.
  • Advises on study visit flow, concerns, efficiencies, and implementation.
  • Coordinates all aspects of a large study.
  • Contacts potential participants, preparing and coordinating study visits, consenting, data entry, processing / labeling specimens, payment processing, and other study-related activities in the UAB Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Annual Salary Range:     $50,050 - $81,330

     

    Qualifications

     

    Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience required.

    Work experience may substitute for education requirement.

       

    Preferences

    • Previous research experience
    • Degree in Psychology is preferred, but not required
