CLINICAL RESEARCH COORDINATOR II - (T215532)

Description

 

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Psych - Behavioral Neurobiology, is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator II. The individual will collect and record data for NIH and other funded studies. Recruit and perform follow-up with research participants as protocols outline. Schedule visits according to research protocols. Assist in coordination of lab and fieldwork. And maintain familiarity with appropriate Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and regulations.

General Responsibilities

  • To serve as a liaison with medical staff, University Departments, ancillary departments and/or satellite facilities.
  • To organize patient enrollment planning.
  • To conduct quality assurance activities.
  • To compile and analyze data.
  • To develop and implement procedures, maintain records, track progress, and conduct quality assurance on data collected.
  • To serve as a mentor to junior staff, including student assistants.

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collects and records data for clinical research programs.
  • Recruits and performs follow-up with research participants as protocols outline.
  • Schedules visits according to research protocols.
  • Handles reminder phone calls and other contact with research participants.
  • Uses Electronic Data Capture (EDC) systems, technologies, and software necessary for study operations with little assistance.
  • Enters data accurately.
  • Scores tests and measures according to protocol, and appropriate to role.
  • Completes paper and electronic Case Report Forms (CRFs and eCRFs) accurately and according to protocol.
  • Develops protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for data quality assurance.
  • Performs general clerical duties (faxing, scanning, routing messages, coordinating the purchase of study supplies/materials).
  • Assists in compiling, editing, and proofing written reports for both internal and external administrative offices.
  • Performs data analysis using a variety of software packages.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Annual Salary Range:     $50,050 - $81,330

     

    Qualifications

     

    Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.

    Preferences

    • MVR will be required.
    • Ability to operate various office machines including printers, computers, and various software packages.
