Position Highlights

The Department of Family and Community Medicine in the College of Medicine at the University of Arizona is seeking candidates for a part-time Clinical Research Coordinator II. This position will support the Helpers Program for Behavioral Health (HPBH) , which is a clinical system intervention designed to shift the cultural milieu of behavioral health agencies to proactively support tobacco cessation among behavioral health treatment recipients. The program’s website goes into further description of the Helpers model, presentation of live and asynchronous trainings, access to Helpers’ informational materials, and a listing of past and current Helpers research and projects.

This position participates in the design, development, execution, and initial interpretation of clinical trials and/or related service projects. Prepares, coordinates, and maintains all regulatory documentation including approval of new or revised protocols, safety reports, and progress reports. Participates in data management design and maintenance; assists in data analysis. Provides team coordination, communication, training, and quality control. Develops standard operating procedures, compliance forms, and tracking documents. The position is temporary and the expected completion is August 31, 2024.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Work with Principal Investigators in coordinating activities related to recruitment for clinical trials including recruiting, screening, and enrolling agencies and participants who meet project criteria. 
  • Collect basic information through surveys and contacts. Maintain telephone, video conference and in-person contact. Notify project director and supervisor of participant status. 
  • Assist in the development, coordination, and deployment of project protocols with agencies and participants. 
  • Conduct trainings and consultations with agencies and participants according to project protocols and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Administer and assist with collecting participant data, entering and analyzing data, and compiling reports, adhering to project protocols. 
  • Maintain and submit appropriate logs, tracks participants, and prepares project materials. 
  • Prepare documentation, reports, graphs, and other materials. 
  • Develop and maintain project communications and meetings with outside entities. 
  • Administer project agendas, communications, and meetings with project personnel.
  • Facilitate project social media engagement with partnering agencies, and Community of Practice. 
  • Build and maintain project website features. 
  • Moderate project message board forums and newsletters.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Three (3) years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous work experience in or broad knowledge of community public health systems or community health services.
  • Experience in coordinating research project protocols.
