Clinical Research Coordinator - CLIN RSCH CRD

The purpose of the examiner position is to carry out the tasks needed for ongoing clinical research studies in the UC Davis Department of Neurology, Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center for observational research and clinical trials. The primary role of this position is to accurately administer, and score standardized neuropsychological test batteries to older adult research participants with and without cognitive impairment under the supervision of a neuropsychologist and Clinical Research Manager. This position will also assist with the coordination of research studies, communicate with participants about scheduled visits, and maintain associated data tracking, data entry, and data management. This role also provides other general support to various research projects.

Minimum Qualifications

• CITI Certification for Biomedical Researchers and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) within one (1) months of hire.
• Experience administering and scoring psychological tests.
• Experience working with cognitively impaired, elderly populations.
• Knowledge of psychological and medical terminology.
• Basic knowledge of research study coordination.
• Basic knowledge of research data collection and storage procedures.
• Strong oral and written communication skills to record observations and scores legibly.
• Able to establish good rapport with patients and caregivers.
• Able to learn multiple testing protocols.
• Able to show sensitivity to the needs of patients with cognitive impairment and their caregivers.
• Able to perform psychological testing or interviews for long periods of time.
• Able to work in a team environment and independently.
• Able to prioritize and organize work responsibilities.
• Demonstrated flexibility with changing priorities, work environment, and schedules.
• Takes initiative to accomplish tasks and completes duties as assigned.
• Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills.
• Demonstrated organizational skills. Detail oriented.
• Works accurately and efficiently.
• Able to use computer systems and software applications such as Word and Excel.
• Able to lift 25 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Department Description

The UC Davis Department of Neurology conducts clinical research and provides diagnosis and treatment for adults and children with a variety of neurological disorders, such as Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia, epilepsy, movement disorders including Parkinson's and Huntington's diseases, tremor, dystonia, multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular conditions, headache, and sleep disorders.

Work Environment

• Must be able to work occasional overtime and flexible hours when required (evenings, weekends)
• Local and out-of-state travel may be required to attend research meetings and educational and community events
