Clinical Research Associate
The Center for Advancing Correctional Excellence (ACE!) within the SCHAR School of Policy and Government at George Mason University is seeking a clinician for a two-year appointment to deliver services in Rockdale County Jail in Georgia as part of a research project. The position will be part of a project funded by the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) that aims to deliver and test tools that can help young individuals’ (17-24 year olds) have better outcomes both inside the jail and after release.
The individual in this position will lead the DREAM program, a cognitive-behavioral program tailored to address key emerging adult development issues through group/individualized sessions, comprehensive case management, and reentry services. In addition to leading DREAM programming, this individual will help support the research protocols in place.
This will be a full time position (40 hours per week) that is based at Rockdale County Jail, in part of the greater Atlanta region.

Required Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field; and
  • Proficiency with MS Office software.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Licensure in social work or related field;
  • Experience with research studies;
  • Experience with justice-involved populations;
  • Minimum 1 year experience providing direct services;
  • Human subjects (IRB) training prior to start date; and
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Additional Requirements:
  • Must be able to pass a background check to work inside of the jail.
