Job Summary:

We are seeking graduate students to collaborate with faculty within the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Cancer Outcomes Research Group conducting research. Specifically, we are looking for motivated students to join our research group and assist with study design and management, patient and caregiver recruitment, and grant, manuscript, and abstract preparation. Students will work directly with Drs. Ashley Bryant (PhD, RN), Lorinda Coombs (PhD), and Daniel Richardson (MD) to design and implement prospective interventions to improve symptom management, treatment decision-making, and quality of life of patients with cancer and other blood disorders. Authorship and presentation opportunities are included. 
This position is funded through active grants with the National Institutes of Health, Palliative Care Research Consortium, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, Carevive Inc, Systems, and the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. 
Responsibilities include:
·        Active participation in research meetings  
·        Participant recruitment and follow-up survey assessments 
·        Data collection, entry, and management 
·        Monitoring and regulatory compliance of various studies
Minimum Qualifications:

Role requirements:
·        Undergraduate or Graduate degree 
·        Research experience 
·        Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills 
·        Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision
Preferred experience: 
·        Experience recruiting study participants 
·        Database management 
·        Experience with research platforms such as RedCAP
