Job Description Summary

Responsible to assist with study coordination and recruitment for investigator-initiated studies, multi-center research studies, and patient-oriented clinical and translational research projects within a specific Division, under close supervision. Works directly with study physicians, research coordinators, project managers, and other research staff. Performs screening visits, consenting of participants, processing and shipping of labs, entering data into databases, and escorting participants to other testing/procedure areas. Help advance the research mission of the Division and University.

Job Description

This individual will be working in a clinical environment, providing biospecimen services to the scientific community. This position will involve tissue collection, processing and storage; specimen inventory tracking; Communicate with biorepository users regarding protocols and sample availability; Ship and track biosamples per IATA regulations; Maintain lab equipment, records and documentation for lab and bench activities.  Will require travel to multiple locations. Successful candidates should be able to work independently as well as in a team environment. A working knowledge of medical terminology and medical experience either in a clinical and/or research setting is required. Experience with phlebotomy and/or molecular laboratory techniques a plus. Special projects and other duties as needed. This position requires the candidate to be on-site 100%. 


Qualifications
H.S. Diploma or GED Required, with 1-2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

This positionis contingent upon funding.
