Description

The University of Chicago's Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience is searching for a full-time faculty member at any rank.  The appointee will provide behavioral health support for the Center for Weight and Metabolic Health, a collaborative, multidisciplinary network of physicians, researchers, and allied health professionals who bring an integrative approach to improving the lives of patients who suffer from obesity.  The appointee will identify and diagnose psychological, emotional, and behavioral issues in clients with an emphasis on weight management supporting the Center for Weight and Metabolic Health patient population.  The appointee will conduct assessments and brief, evidence-based interventions for adult patients, interact with team members to inform shared treatment plans, and deliver the clinical and consultative outcomes to the providers.  Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity.  We especially welcome applicants with training and experience in integrated behavioral health (with an emphasis on obesity), evidence-based psychological treatment for medical and psychiatric conditions, and/or competency in cognitive-behavior therapy.  Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or related field, 2) hold or be eligible for an Illinois license in Clinical Psychology, and 3) have completed an internship at an APA accredited site.  Assessment of applications will consider experience evaluating and treating eating disorders.
