Title: Clinical Educator- Nursing Co-op Program
Location: UC Medical Center
Department: Staff Education
Hours: Full Time 40/week

Primary Purpose:

The Clinical Program Developer (Education)/ is a registered nurse who influences role competence and professional growth of learners.  This individual develops, implements, and evaluates content promote the professional development of nurses in providing high quality safe patient care.  Activities of focus include: Preceptor Development Program, Educator Development Program, Charge Nurse Program, and Certification Reviews.

The Clinical Program Developer works to ensure all unlicensed staff have the skills and training to meet the needs of the patients safely and effectively in the organization. This individual collaborates with the nursing leadership team to meet staff educational needs based on current evidence based research and practices, and applies design principles and integrates technology to ensure effective learning experiences.




Qualifications

 

Knowledge and Skills: The qualities essential to this role are strong interpersonal communication skills, clinical knowledge, and effective problem solving. Evidence of continuing professional growth; membership in a professional organization in area of clinical specialization; able to work flexible hours as needed.

Education: Minimum Required: Master’s Degree in Nursing or BSN and Master’s in Education

Years of Experience: 

  • Minimum required: Three to five years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Preferred: 2 years of demonstrated achievement of progressive responsibilities in professional development project management work.

 Licenses and Certifications: 

  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio. 
  • Current BLS certification required. 
  • Certification in Nursing Professional Development and/or clinical specialty are strongly preferred.
  • If not currently certified, expected to achieve certification within a year of eligibility
