Position Description


Advertised Job Summary
The Clinical Program Coordinator works with the Coordinator of Clinical Education, Faculty Program Directors and Department Chairs to secure clinical placements and ensure facility compliance requirements for Clinical Academic programs in the College of Nursing.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of related experience in business management, public administration, administrative services, or related field; or equivalency.
Preferred Qualifications
Five years’ experience in administrative or clinical education areas of acute care facility settings. Experience working in/with acute healthcare facilities in Columbia, SC region.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of clinical placement management, skill in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and web-based platforms with data and request management such as my Clinical Exchange or Castlebranch Bridges; and ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with faculty, staff, students, and clinical partners. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to pay high level of attention to detail. Basic data analysis skills to create reports based on Excel. Ability to exercise discretion in interpreting and applying established policies and procedures. Ability to manage private or confidential information and securely exchange data with clinical facilities. Ability to understand and carry out complex oral and written instructions. Ability to set priorities and manage details.


Job Duties


Job Duty
Collaborates with the Coordinator of Clinical Education to secure clinical placements for the College of Nursing (CON) clinical academic programs. Responsible for preparation and communications regarding student information for clinical placements via Excel, student data forms, and rosters exchanged with facilities or in online management systems utilized by the facilities including my Clinical Exchange and Castlebranch Bridges.

Manages verification of student and clinical instructor health requirements such as immunity and vaccinations meeting facility standards. Coordinates with facility administrators and clinical educators to facilitate student and clinical instructor onboarding and compliance processes. Facilitates clinical instructor completion of College and University hiring processes by providing technical assistance and support as needed.

Supports student and clinical instructor onboarding processes to assigned clinical facilities to include coordinating information and technical assistance sessions with course faculty and program directors. Coordinates clinical health requirements such as annual N95 fit testing for students and instructors. Maintains clinical information in course management systems such as Blackboard including student guidance for facility clearance requirements and clinical attendance trackers for course coordinator completion.

Supports the Coordinator of Clinical Education in preparation of reports and other documents as requested by Office of Academic Affairs, Department Chairs, and the Dean’s Office as well as facility partners. Prepares reports including student evaluations of facilities and clinical requirements such as vaccinated population reports for facilities and clinical requirements such as vaccinated population reports for facilities.
