Description

: 

The Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine at the University of Houston seeks a non-tenure track clinical faculty (at the rank of Clinical Professor) physician who will build and lead a team of obstetrician/gynecologists and maternal fetal medicine specialists, as well as nurse midwives, nurse practitioners and genetic counselors, to provide high quality maternal care to patient populations within several affiliated HCA hospitals. The faculty physician will also assist in the education of medical students from the Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine. This clinician will work with the Obstetrics clerkship director for placement of students within clinical facilities under their direction. This clinician will also engage in research focused upon improving health outcomes in the delivery of maternal fetal medicine.
The specific duties include the following:
Primary Responsibilities:
Clinical Mission (90% Effort) · Develop and lead a clinician group comprised of obstetricians/gynecologists, and maternal fetal medicine specialists. · Provide direct patient care within affiliated HCA hospitals.
Educational/Research Mission (10% Effort) · Assist with the teaching of medical students in the pre-clerkship and clerkship phases of the curriculum · Engage in research activities such as grant proposals and collaborate with investigators studying health outcomes in maternal fetal medicine.
Full Time: 1 FTE

Qualifications

: 

Minimum Qualifications

· Medical Licensure or eligibility for same in the State of Texas
· Medical degree from an accredited allopathic or osteopathic college of medicine
· Completion of a residency in obstetrics and gynecology and a maternal-fetal medicine fellowship
· Current certification by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology with subspecialty certification in Maternal Fetal Medicine
· Qualifications and experience for appointment with the academic rank of Clinical Faculty
· Experience documenting with an electronic medical record
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience teaching medical students and residents
· Experience contributing to medical student curricula
· Track record of successful grant submissions for research
