Position Summary:

Responsible for organizing, managing, and assisting with the development and execution of multi-disciplinary performance improvement initiatives with a focus on transformational projects for the Behavioral Sciences Campus. Utilizes traditional Root Cause Analysis, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma tools to optimize hospital operations and is an internal consultant on quality improvement principles.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  • Organizes project planning and implementation and focuses on ensuring sustainment of performance improvement, process redesign, and change management activities throughout the campus. 
  • Identifies opportunities to improve process capability and process robustness. Collaborates across functional areas - interprets, presents, and delivers information with executive leadership. 
  • Mentors hospital leadership and staff on Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies. Provides assistance in developing, implementing, and facilitating strategy and planning and developing continuous improvement. 
  • Acts as a change agent to instill a change management culture throughout the organization. Conducts patient/process "walk-throughs" and fact-to-face patient and provider interviews.
  • Leads process improvement teams and leadership in understanding and using process management and Lean Six Sigma methods by establishing links between process improvement initiatives and business strategies and identifying and prioritizing high-impact opportunities. 
  • Responsible for managing, collaborating, and coordinating organization-wide efforts to ensure that performance improvement programs are developed using a data-driven focus that sets priorities for improvements aligned with the organization's vision, mission, and strategic goals. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Certification/Skills:

    Lean Six Sigma Black Belt required. 
    Project Management skills.

    Minimum Education:

    Bachelor's Degree in a related field required.

    Minimum Experience:

    Four (4) years of experience in clinical operations, project management, data collection, analysis/reporting, or in a related field required. Experience in quality management, process improvement, and/or project management in a healthcare environment preferred

    Physical Requirements:

    Exerts up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

    Residency Requirement:

    Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
