The Clinical Placement Manager is responsible for the administration of student clinical placements for assigned programs that may include undergraduate/prelicensure or graduate clinical programs. The individual in this role is responsible for the management of clinical program requests for placement of students with clinical sites/preceptors. Specific responsibilities include: identification of the number of students to be placed within a program and the type of clinical placements needed; prioritize clinical placement of students with existing clinical sites and preceptors; identify new clinical sites and preceptors when needed; initiate clinical affiliation agreements for new clinical sites; develop and maintain collaborative relationships with key contacts at each clinical site; and approve and submit all required documentation for clinical placement prior to student clinical practicum experiences. The Clinical Placement Manager is also responsible for communication of information regarding faculty/student clinical placements to clinical sites, faculty, and students, and for making arrangements for faculty/student orientations, access to electronic medical records, and other arrangements as needed. Under the direction of the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, with a direct report to the Director of Clinical Placement, Associate Dean for Undergraduate/Prelicensure Education and/or the Associate Dean for Graduate Clinical Education, the Clinical Placement Manager will work collaboratively with the Associate Deans, Assistant Deans, Program Directors, and Specialty Track Coordinators responsible for oversight of student clinical learning experiences regarding the clinical placements needs of programs. 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Identifies and secures clinical site placement for assigned students with approved clinical sites and preceptors.
2. Manages database of clinical agencies, preceptors, and faculty/student orientation requirements.
3.Tracks assigned students' progress in completing required training and documentation for clinical placement.
4. Approves or denies submitted student documentation based on established guidelines.
5. Participates in the planning and execution of School of Nursing new student orientation activities, including event setup and breakdown, and leads clinical placement presentations and discussions on clinical placement processes, expectations, and requirements. 
6.Collaborates with the Director of Clinical Placement, Academic Associate Deans, Assistant Deans, Program Directors, Specialty Track Coordinators, Clinical Course Managers, and other academic leaders to assess clinical placement needs and determine placement requirements.
7. Initiate and maintain effective communication with clinical agencies, preceptors, and clinical course managers regarding clinical placements.
8. Schedules, coordinates, and facilitates recurring clinical placement meetings with the Director of Clinical Placement, Program Directors, Specialty Track Coordinators, Clinical Course Managers, and other faculty to review clinical placement needs, establish placement priorities, identify action items, and facilitate timely and successful clinical placements.
9. Initiate the clinical contract process for new clinical sites.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.
(Annual Salary:  $55,180 - $89,670)
 

Qualifications

 
Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Clinical Administration, Higher Education, Business Administration, Public Administration or another related field with a minimum of five (5) years relevant experience in higher education, nursing, administration or management. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Experience managing databases preferred.
Master's degree is preferred. Experience in managing databases desired. This individual should be detail oriented, have effective problem-solving skills, demonstrate effectiveness in communication, customer service, prioritizing workload, and relationship building.
