JOB SUMMARY


This position will be responsible for supporting and coordinating the clinical operations of the School of Nursing distance sites, with primary focus on the placement of students for clinical and practicum educational experiences for online programs. Key responsibilities include clinical placement database administration and management and maintain regular communication with program leadership, faculty, clinical instructors, students, and healthcare organizations. This position will serve as the main contact within and outside the School of Nursing for online distance nursing clinical placement office and will require operation at several different levels to establish and maintain efficient program and departmental operations. Hybrid work schedule, in-person on the Burlington Campus a minimum of 2 days per week on Tuesdays and Fridays, subject to increase depending on programmatic needs. Occasional organizational meetings requiring in-person attendance on the Boston Campus should be expected.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree with experience in healthcare-related field preferred or equivalent education and experience that includes 2-3 years prior administrative experience in nursing education or health care agency.
  • Must demonstrate advanced computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Experience and exposure to multiple applications including, but not limited to, databases and other computer systems strongly desired.
  • Experience with Exxat and Centralized Clinical Placement a plus.
  • Should possess excellent communications skills, including verbal and written with editing experience.
  • Must demonstrate well-developed skills related to organizing, prioritizing, and delegating as appropriate.
  • Must possess exemplary customer service orientation with both internal and external customers.
  • Due to the varying levels at which this role must operate, self-direction, flexibility, a hands-on approach, and the ability to manage several initiatives and tasks simultaneously are critical for success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES


1)  Oversight and Implementation of Clinical Placement Process    

Initiate, implement, and finalize the clinical placement process. Specific assignments or projects include ABSN student placement at multiple clinical and practicum sites each semester. Prepare and disseminate correspondence with students, clinical agencies, and preceptors. Secure and maintain electronic files to document students' clinical clearance and background check information as required. Collaborate with appropriate stakeholders  to assure compliance with all university policies.



2) Communication and Information-sharing Infrastructure 


Initiate and sustain effective levels of communication with students, partner organizations, full-time and part-time faculty, and other identified stakeholders to facilitate and support the placement process.   Participate in information-sharing groups and collaborations including but not limited to monthly Bouve Clinical Coordinator meetings, the Centralized Clinical Placement Program, and School of Nursing Clinical Affairs meetings.

3) Database Administrations and Management


Integrate systems to maintain the clinical placement database and other software programs, including internal databases and web-based programs.  Identify areas for process improvement; make recommendations regarding system customization based on changing School needs.  Prepare documents and reports as requested.


4) Evaluation Reporting  

Organize and summarize applicable clinical placement data in clear reports each semester. Report specifics to be determined by CPO Program Manager and programmatic needs.
