What will you be doing in this role?

Under the direction of a licensed care giver, and after education and demonstration of competency, the Clinical Partner (CP), performs a variety of direct patient care activities or tasks specific to the unit/needs of the patient population. The CP maintains competency skills including the ability to provide care to special patient populations and patients with diverse cultural backgrounds. The CP can identify the ability of the adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient to follow directions/instructions. The CP can identify safety concerns in the age-related population and institutes additional measures to provide a safe environment; and identify developmental milestones in the age-related population.

  • Provides for the safety of patients, families, and significant others. Reduces the risk of health care acquired infection by staying in compliance with current CDC hand washing guidelines and CSMC isolation policy.
  • Safely uses restraints interventions directed by the charge nurse or primary RN.
  • Maintains patient stability by checking vital signs and weight, recording intake and output, dispensing/retrieving patient care supplies, report abnormal vital signs to charge nurse or primary RN, as well as accurately documenting in electronic medical records.
  • Ensures environmental cleanliness in patient rooms and patient care areas.
  • Assists patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • California Certified Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), by the American Heart Association or The American Red Cross.
  • Minimum of one (1) year previous experience as a Licensed CNA in an acute care facility, (hospital or medical center strongly preferred) or long-term-care hospital (convalescent, skilled nurse facility or physical rehabilitation center), preferred.
  • Full command of the English language, both written and verbal, sufficient to carry out the duties identified in this job description.

This full time CP will work under the evening shift, 1:00pm - 9:30pm OR 3:00pm - 11:30pm. Hours to be determined per department needs.
